EXPERIENCES

Product Designer

Polar Mobile

Sep. 2018 - Apr. 2019

  • Coded in HTML5, CSS3, and SASS to turn wireframes and mockups into working prototypes on the company’s Github, cutting down development time for engineers by more than half for front-end UI projects.

  • Clearly explained design decisions for product and engineering partners who previously had no exposure to an in-house designer, which led to better understanding of the importance of good typographic hierarchy, interaction design, and user experience.

  • Established Polar’s first customer-centric process by clearly explaining how user interviews are run and by leading user interviews, which brought key insights to how our users interacted with and used one of Polar’s popular tools, the Preview Tool.

  • Ideated and designed ad product templates to be used on the SaaS platform by more than 80 publisher partners ranging from Condé Nast to NBC Universal, generating user impressions from 20,000 views to more than 150,000 views.

  • Worked with engineering team to create algorithmic logic for newly designed ad product templates, often inspecting existing templates to improve upon existing logic.


Freelance UX Designer

ProtoHack

Jan. 2018 - Jan. 2019

  • Mobile app development for ProtoHack’s new design-thinking based mobile app targeted to increase creative problem-solving for teenagers

    • Wireframed onboarding screens using concise language and phrases that appealed to our target users who are high school students.

    • Created user personas, ideation examples, and "How Might We" (HMW) questions for Startup League, ProtoHack's new iOS app.

    • Created a user case chart, which acted as a guideline for developers during the product development phase, making it faster for the main developer to understand key interactions the app needed in order for its MVP.

    • Created Style Tiles to be used for visual and UI Development, which generated positive feedback from our target users.

    • Ideated and wireframed administrator's experience using Startup League, coming up with ways to ensure user retention.

  • Design thinking workshops for hackathons featuring ProtoHack

    • Created "How to Prototype" presentation detailing steps from ideation to prototyping for hackathon events hosted in New York City.

    • Led a prototyping workshop for CUNY's hackathon hosted in Galvanize, where students learned the different stages of Design Thinking and how ideas can become tangible solutions.

May - Sep. 2018

  • Created animated sponsored content for clients such as Slack, making articles more alive and interactive for the readers.

  • Transformed print editorial data visualizations into digital experiences using Ceros, with projects ranging from short editorial articles to one of Inc.’s largest annual editorial packages, Inc. 5000.

  • Created, revised, and refined marketing copies and sell sheets using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

  • Redesigned Inc. Magazine’s 2018 Media Kit to reflect new Inc. colors, which gave the layouts more modern, friendly, and inviting for viewers.

Public Relations & Account Management Intern

Sep. - Dec. 2017

  • Created a New York master media list of reporters using Cision, MuckRack, and other research methods, with over 100 reporters who cover AI, AR/VR, hardware, and venture capital.

  • Created briefing sheets about reporters. Took call notes and drafted weekly end-of-week industry news reports for clients.

  • Helped create two end-of-year news coverage reports for clients, collecting total social shares and total unique monthly visitors (UMVs).

  • Conducted competitor research and market research in order to analyze client's standing and relevance.

Search Marketing Intern

May - Aug. 2017

  • Narrowed 5,000 keywords to top 200 using Microsoft Excel's VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables for Kiehl's product launch.

  • Used Google AdWords daily to create ad groups, meta tags, and meta descriptions with character limits ranging from 65-170 for L'Oréal Group's consumer, professional, and luxury brands.

Editorial Intern

Inc. Magazine

Jan. - May 2017

  • Created "2017 Coolest College Startups" package and "Kairos Society top 50 Emerging Companies in 2017" package, with each package gaining 100,000+ unique visitors within a week of publishing.

  • Wrote articles ranging from 300 - 600 words and created slideshows with 38-word-limit per slide.

  • Updated over 600 Inc. columnist information in a day using the company's content management system and site manager, alerting the columnist team which new writers to hire.

  • A/B tested headlines and curated tweets for each article for most optimal social media exposure.

  • Conducted weekly ExactTarget analysis on email subscribers to examine readers' article preferences and increase article click-through rates.

Editorial Intern

  • Wrote hard news and features stories about Metro New York area, often working with 200-600 word limits.

  • Conducted 'man on the street' interviews, often visiting Brooklyn, Harlem, and Manhattan to speak with people on the topic and angle of the article.

  • Pitched senior and features editors on editorial stories, mostly features news stories.

  • Attend events to cover, including one at the Brooklyn Museum for a sports photography showcase.

  • Pitched stories, including one about Instagram influencers' tips on gaining traction on social media.
